Dear Patients and Families,
With very mixed feelings, I am announcing my retirement, effective August 1, 2018.
It has been my great privilege to care for children for over 35 years. I have loved watching sweet newborns grow into inquisitive toddlers, eager grade schoolers, determined teenagers, and responsible young adults. I now have the joy of caring for another generation as I see the children and even grandchildren of former patients. To all the parents and grandparents of these wonderful children, I want to say thank you for letting me be a part of their lives and yours. I cannot imagine another career that could be so rewarding.
The decision to retire has been an extremely difficult one for me, but it helps a lot to know that I will still be surrounded by children. I already have the joy of babysitting my grandson two days every week. He is an adorable, happy 23-month old who lights up the room, and I delight in taking care of him. He loves his "grandmommy", and I cherish being an important part of his life. In late May, he will become a big brother, and when my daughter returns to work in August, I will be caring for both him and his baby sister several days a week. I am thrilled that I will be able to be an important part of her life as well. I am also looking forward to spending more time with my husband, traveling, and volunteering for causes that are important to me.
From the beginning of Goodlettsville Pediatrics, I have been fortunate to work with amazingly talented, dedicated, and caring physicians and nurse practitioners. I will be retiring knowing that my patients are in good hands.
I will miss all the wonderful people who make up the GoodPeds family. Goodlettsville Pediatrics would not be the same without them.
But most of all, I will miss the families and the children who have so enriched my life.
